Gifts of Securities
Gifts to WEPAN of securities, including stocks and bonds, may be made with minimal out-of-pocket costs, and when stock is transferred directly to WEPAN, you do not have to pay capital gains tax. WEPAN highly recommends that donors consult with their own tax or legal advisor prior to making a gift of securities.
Other Beneficiary Designations
Donors may name WEPAN as a partial or total beneficiary on any life insurance policy, annuity, trust, IRA or similar instrument.
Many workplace campaigns, like the United Way Campaign, will allow employees to write in a specific 501(c3) organization of their choosing. Please check with your Human Resources Department to see if you may select the Engineering ProActive Network for your designation.
Dollars for Doers
Besides for matching gifts, many companies also make donations in honor of their employees’ volunteer efforts. This is a great way to increase your impact. Please check with your Human Resources Department to see if your company offers this benefit.
Over 15,000 employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match contributions made by their employees to charitable organizations. To find out if your company has a matching gift policy, please check with your Human Resources Department.
To increase your charitable giving through a matching gift:
- Request a Matching Gift Form from your company.
- Complete and submit the form to WEPAN along with your gift.
- We will verify the form and return it to your company.
- The company issues a matching gift donation to WEPAN.
