Marca J Lam
Marca Lam is a senior lecturer at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Prior to joining RIT in 2006, she taught at the Cooper Union for 12 years and achieved the rank of tenured associate professor. She received her B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University at Buffalo, and her Ph.D. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Marca Lam’s specialty is in vibrations and control. She teaches a variety of courses to both graduate and undergraduate students, such as a 3-D graphics course, a computer programming course, materials science, system dynamics, optimal design, and the vibrations sequence.
Marca Lam is the faculty advisor for the Society of Women Engineers and an executive board member for WE@RIT, the women in engineering program at RIT. She is active in the Society of Women Engineers Rochester Section, where she holds to position of secretary. She also serves as an advocate for RIT’s Kate Gleason College of Engineering Honors Program. Marca Lam is actively involved as logistics coordinator for the RIT-hosted Mini-Baja competition.
