WHY WEPAN? "I first joined WEPAN so that I could serve as a resource for others at my institution, as we are a small school without full-time WIE program staff.  I teach several first year courses as well as summer camps, and I apply what I have learned from other WEPAN members and the WEPAN Knowledge Center to improve our recruitment efforts and support our students.  I find the WEPAN Change Leader Forum and webinars to be extremely effective in communicating current research and best practices that I can apply directly in my work, whether interacting with students or influencing faculty and administrators."

HOW DOES WEPAN SUPPORT ME? "The organization is truly effective in promoting diversity, and provides wonderful opportunities for faculty who wish to make a difference."

WHY DO I SUPPORT WEPAN? "WEPAN allows me to learn from a community of diversity practitioners, and as a result I am more effective in advancing towards diversity goals at my own institution.  WEPAN has also offered me the chance to work in a leadership role in planning the Change Leader Forum.  At the WEPAN Change Leader Forum, I was warmly welcomed as a newcomer, and encouraged to contribute to the organization.  The open, approachable atmosphere of the Forum has been a wonderful networking opportunity for me."

WHAT DOES WEPAN MEAN TO ME? "I am an active part of a community that creates real, positive change in higher education."

WHY WEPAN? "There is no other community like the one I have found though WEPAN and no other event like the Change Leader Forum; this forum brings inclusive practice to the forefront and celebrates all that women in STEM have to offer. The support, insight, and personal connections shared within this community are exceptional and have contributed to my growth as a researcher, learner, and professional."

HOW DOES WEPAN SUPPORT ME? "WEPAN supports me by creating an environment where I feel comfortable seeking advice, sharing personal struggles, sharing my work, and learning how to best support other people in my professional and personal communities."

WHY DO I SUPPORT WEPAN?  "I support WEPAN because this community cares; I believe WEPAN members care about each other, care about people who are different from them, care about the valuable work we do, and care about supporting other women."

WHAT DOES WEPAN MEAN TO ME? "To me, the existence of WEPAN as an organization (and its allies) means that there are many people in this world who want to drive change and shift the culture of engineering to be more inclusive. WEPAN offers a network of support where work related to diversity and inclusion is genuinely valued and celebrated."

WEPAN is… "WEPAN is a counter-story. It is an undeniable contradiction to the historical misconception that women and STEM are incompatible; its leaders and members stand as shining examples of highly successful women who challenge engineering and cultural norms.
