Laura Bistrek 

Laura Bistrek, P.E., is the Director of the Diversity in Engineering Center at the University of Dayton (UD). The Diversity in Engineering Center focuses primarily on women, underrepresented minority and international undergraduate and graduate students as well as fostering an inclusive community for all students, faculty and staff in the School of Engineering. Prior to her current role, she was the Program Manager of the Women Engineering Program and Minority Engineering Program at UD for nine years. Before her career in higher education, Laura worked for Tetra Tech as a Project Manager / Project Engineer for nine years with a primary focus in Water Resource Engineering. She received a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the University of Dayton, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Louisville and is a licensed professional engineer.

Laura has been involved with WEPAN since 2006 and has served as the Change Leader Forum Planning Chair and has served on the Change Leader Forum, Awards and Membership Committees. She has served on the American Society of Civil Engineers Dayton Section Board for 8 years and currently is a member of the Education Committee. At UD, Laura has served as the adviser to the student chapters of the National Society of Black Engineers, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Society of Women Engineers and Tau Beta Pi for ten years. She is also a coordinator for the Women in Science and Engineering Integrated Learning Living Committee.
