Andrea Buscemi is the Project Director for the Women in Engineering ProActive Network’s Amplifying the Alliance to Catalyze Change for Equity in STEM Success (ACCESS+) initiative, an NSF ADVANCE partnership grant that seeks to extend the breadth and number of STEM professional societies engaged in addressing disciplinary diversity, equity, and inclusion.
While serving in the US Air Force, Andrea completed her BAS in Technology Management. Prior to joining WEPAN, Andrea worked and volunteered at organizations focused on creating more diverse, equitable, and inclusive communities. Andrea is actively involved in Girl Scouts, where she organizes fun, interactive, girl-led activities that encourage girls to try new things, test their limits, and work toward goals as a team.
Her professional and personal interests are focused on creating sustainable communities that honor all members, regenerate natural ecosystems, and shift away from exploitative economies. Andrea hopes to pursue graduate study in community sustainability with a focus on equity and environmental justice.
