For this year’s workforce development month webinar, WEPAN welcomes Dr. Ken Roberts to bring his decades of experience educating and training engineers and to share his model for preparing engineering students and professionals for the fundamentals of engineering and principles and practice of engineering exams.

Dr. Roberts is a chemical engineer, chemical engineering professor, and NSBE leader who frequently provides PD for engineers, including FE/PE exam prep for professionals.

Dr. Kenneth L. Roberts

Kenneth L. Roberts received his B. Ch.E. and M.S. degrees in chemical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering from the University of South Carolina. He has served as a faculty member in Chemical Engineering for over 17 years. Professor Roberts has received several professional awards that have included the 3M Non-Tenured Faculty Research Award (2000-2003), American Society for Engineering Education/MIND New Faculty Award (1998), North Carolina Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation Outstanding Science, Mathematics, Engineering and Technology Faculty Mentor Award (1999) and the HBCU/MI Oak Ridge National Laboratory Faculty Fellowship (2001).

Prof. Roberts maintains active memberships in the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the Material Research Society, and the American Society for Engineering Education. Dr. Roberts has research interests in nanoceramic materials processing, heterogeneous & environmental catalysis, renewable energy systems and the measurement & prediction of solid-fluid equilibria. His research has been supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation, the U.S. Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratory, the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Department of Energy, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the U.S. Department of Education, and the 3M Company.
