Changing Paradigms for Diversity

Changing Paradigms for Diversity in Undergraduate Engineering Education through Critical Cultural Research

Presentation Slides (pdf)

The paradigm we bring to diversity and inclusion issues is important for how we think about, talk about, and act on them. The typical diversity paradigms can limit focus to the individual and limit attention to the sources outside of our control.

´╗┐Critical cultural paradigms offer a useful frame for looking at diversity issues by looking at larger systems impacting individuals while focusing action and attention on the local settings we have influence on.

This webinar will engage participants in discussion on the paradigms for diversity in engineering, and then present multiple applications of critical cultural research approaches.
