Description

This document is a poster overview of the ACCESS+ Initiative, highlighting its mission to support cohorts of STEM professional society leaders in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). It outlines the program’s structure, which combines guided DEI self-assessment, facilitated action planning, and collaborative change work.

Key components include:

  • Inclusive Professional Framework for Societies (IPF: Societies) – Strategies to identify and address mental models hindering DEI reform.
  • Equity Environmental Scanning Tool (EEST) – A self-assessment covering 12 society functions, from governance to partnerships, to benchmark DEI efforts and guide action.
  • Community of Practice – Monthly meetings for collaboration, sharing promising practices, generating new knowledge, and driving collective change.
  • Cohort Journey – A sequence of application, orientation, EEST completion, annual convening, action planning, and ongoing engagement.
